FAQ’s

Q.  What should I wear?
A.  Comfortable, loose or stretchy (not baggy) clothing that allows you to move easily in and out of postures.

Q.  Can I drop-in to a class or do I have to sign-up ahead of time?
A.  You are always welcome to drop-in. Our online schedule also allows you to create an account and sign-in to classes in advance, but it’s not mandatory. The attendance in many of our classes is growing quickly so there will come a time that reserving your space in advance might be necessary.

Q.  Can I pay for my classes online?
A.  Yes, but do not pay for your first class online! We have an Introductory Special that you’ll want to take advantage of if you’re new to The Yoga Tree, and this can only be purchased in-house. Once you're past the Intro Special, renewing your account with all other class-pass options are available online for your convenience.

Q.  How much time do I need to prepare before class?
A.  If it’s your first class at The Yoga Tree, you’ll be asked to complete a general liability waiver, so you’ll want to arrive no less than 15 minutes prior to class time. After your first visit, we encourage you to arrive no less than 5 minutes prior to class time…it takes at least 5 minutes to settle into your space...no sense in rushing in to relax!

Q.  Do I need a mat?
A.  Yes, you need a mat. We have $1 rentals but we encourage you to buy your own if you don’t already have one. We sell mats for $30 in our boutique and they’re the same as our rentals, so you can rent one to try it out and if you decide to buy a one, we’ll deduct the rental fee from the total price.

Q.  Do I need to bring water?
A.  We encourage you to bring your own water. We sell bottled water for $1, in case you forget to bring it.

Q.  I’m new to yoga, what classes are best suited for me?
A.  We have several classes that are suited for those who are new to yoga. These classes show (Gentle) next to the class name. A “gentle” class is not just for those who are unable to physically challenge themselves. We all need to slow down sometimes and just breathe, notice, and sense what’s going on within our being…and a gentle class really allows us to do this. A gentle class is the best fit for someone new to yoga because it is a slow moving class that not only allows you time to settle in and experience the postures on all levels, but it also allows the instructor time to encourage the exploration of the posture and to offer assistance and/or make adjustments.

Q.  Which pass should I buy to get the best value?
A.  If you plan on attending three or more classes a week, than the month unlimited pass will give you the best value. If you are attending two or fewer classes a week, get a 10 or 5 class pass, which are good for one full year from the date of purchase.

Q.  How often should I practice yoga?
A.  That depends upon you. You can practice once a week, several times a day, or anything in between. It is important to develop a personal practice that works for you and your lifestyle.
