Leigh Ann Lesho, FounderLeigh Ann is a registered Yoga teacher (RYT) with the Yoga Alliance, having completed her 250-hour training with the Providence Institute in 2005, with a specialized certification in Prenatal Yoga from The Yoga Connection. She is a highly decorated athlete from a 19-year softball career that began in her hometown of Tucson. While playing at Flowing Wells High School, she was twice named Player of the Year in Southern Arizona and broke the all-time state strikeout record as a pitcher. She continued her career at the University of Nebraska with a full-athletic scholarship from 1999-2002 and was named an NCAA All-American Pitcher. She received her Bachelors Degree in Broadcast-Journalism with a Minor in History, and went on to play softball professionally in Spain, Italy, and eventually returned home to Tucson to play for the Arizona Heat for one season before retiring from the sport. She began teaching young Tucson pitchers and fell in love with the integration of Yoga into an athletes mental, emotional, and physical training. Softball had been her preparation for a life-path of Yoga. Her yogic journey truly began in the middle of her college career when she began to form a relationship with her breath...she had a spiritual awakening through the meditative routine that was her pitching; and realized that she had been practicing Yoga for many years without being aware of it as the system of "Yoga". The Yoga Tree has been a vision of Leigh Ann's since she first decided to become a Yoga teacher, and she is so grateful that this vision has finally come to life with an amazing family of teachers to help nurture its growth! Leigh Ann is also a wife, mother, artist, and musician. She enjoys teaching a Vinyasa style of asana practice. |
